ACC Team of the Week : Louisville – for a 33-21 win over Clemson
17. Florida State (1-8)
Last Week: 17
Another week another embarrassing loss for the Noles. This time 35-11 to UNC. Anything and anyone related to this trainwreck of a season needs a long hard look in the mirror. Oh yeah Notre Dame is this week.
16. Stanford (2-7)
Last Week: 16
Can Stanford lose to BYE week? Probably not, but you never know.
15. Virginia (4-4)
Last Week: 15
Virginia has to go on the road and play one angry set of Pitt Panthers.
14. Boston College (4-4)
Last Week: 14
Boston College gets to host Syracuse in a game I think they must have to make a bowl game.
13. North Carolina (5-4)
Last Week: 13
Break out the Heels here! They crushed FSU this past week, and now get a week off.
12. California (4-4)
Last Week: 12
Cal is too good to be winless in the ACC. They head across country to face Wake Forest. Will this be their first ACC win?
11. Wake Forest (4-4)
Last Week: 11
The loser of the Wake Forest Cal game is probably not making a bowl game. It’s a big game in that regard.
10. Georgia Tech (5-4)
Last Week : 10
An improved Georgia Tech defense will be no match for Miami’s spectacular offense. The Jackets must have a healthy Haynes King to have a shot at an upset in a shootout.
9. Virginia Tech (5-4)
Last Week: 6
Virginia Tech has teased us again. Even with Kryon Drones out Virginia Tech raced out to a 21-3 on Syracuse only to meltdown. Now they get to host a Clemson team coming off their own meltdown.
8. Duke (6-3)
Last Week: 8
Duke has now lost 2 games in a row after a 6-1 start. It was against the ACC’s two best teams SMU and Miami, but will they be ready for a surging NC State team?
7. NC State (5-4)
Last Week: 9
NC State has taken care of business against Cal and Stanford who have a combined 1 ACC win. Duke is a step up in competition and we’ll see where the Wolfpack really are because they sure “seem” improved.
6. Syracuse (6-2)
Last week: 7
Syracuse didn’t let the Pitt loss become another defeat. Their comeback against Virginia Tech makes them a surprising 6-2. Now they head to Boston College to face their old Big East rival, Boston College.
5. Pitt (7-1)
Last week: 3
Pitt got hit by a freight train at SMU in a 48-25 loss. The Panthers can still have a huge season, and it starts with Virginia coming to town.
4. Clemson (6-2)
Last Week: 2
Clemson was taken to the woodshed by Louisville in a stunning 33-21 loss that wasn’t nearly that close. Where does Clemson go from here? If they don’t win at Virginia Tech, the season could go completely off the rails.
3. Louisville (6-3)
Last Week: 5
Hats off to Louisville for marching into Clemson’s Death Valley and treating that venue like their personal playground. They can enjoy the BYE week now.
2. SMU (8-1)
Last Week: 4
SMU is now a front-runner to reach the ACC Title game. They need to keep an eye on the prize during the BYE week and watch the college football playoff show where they will get some buzz.
1. Miami (9-0)
Last Week: 1
I just don’t know about Miami’s defense, and Georgia Tech with a healthy Haynes King could push that unit. Good thing the best QB and offense in the country are playing for the Hurricanes.
