Florida State dropped yet another game in this young season as they fell 20-12 to Memphis at home.
They left the Noles 0-3. That would be zero wins and there losses, all as a favorite.
There is no sugarcoating it now. The season for Florida State is a total and complete trainwreck. on September 14, 2024, they are the worst team in a 17-team ACC. They would be ranked in the bottom 5 worst teams in the P4.
For all the praise Mike Norvell got last year for a 13-0 regular season that should have ended in the playoff, you have to point the finger at him for this debacle of a start.
What did he see in QB DJ Uiagalelei? Has Uiagalelei ever given any indication that he was more than a game manager at best? With all the quality QB’s in the transfer portal, Uiagelelei is who the Noles ended up with? When you have a QB like DJU, you better be good in the other phases of the game.
The Noles aren’t.
The offensive line is rotten. FSU can’t run the ball. No receivers have stepped up. The defense is decent, but hardly the unit many thought it would be.
Now the schedule gets really tough.
They host Cal who’s coming off a win at Auburn, then head on the road to SMU, and come back to host Clemson. Then they have 3 of the next 4 are on the road at Duke, at Miami, North Carolina, and at Notre Dame. Then it’s Charleston Southern.
Before you get to Charleston Southern – how many wins do you see? 0, 1, maybe 2? I sure don’t see more than 3 wins even if a QB change is made and is successful because FSU is so bad across the board.
It is a nightmare season, that nobody saw coming, and frankly can’t be salvaged at this point.
Rock Bottom? The Noles have found it.
