Syracuse moved to 2-0 after a wild 31-28 win over Georgia Tech.
How about an instant reaction to the win?
- QB Kyle McCord and Syracuse’s offense is the real deal. Good luck dealing with this offense this year. McCord ate up Georgia Tech blitzes, made great decisions, and the Syracuse offense looked physical and explosive all at the same time.
- Syracuse will start the year 5-0. With Stanford at home, then Holy Cross, and at UNLV The Orange will head to Raleigh probably ranked and undefeated.
- The Orange front 4 played a whale of a game. Georgia Tech has a legit QB, and a solid offensive line. They largely held the Jackets run game in check. Were they perfect? No, but that is one of the better offenses they’ll see this year.
- Georgia Tech isn’t dead. If you had given Georgia Tech a 3-1 start to the season, you’d have taken it, because a 2-2 or worse start was in play. Georgia Tech should cruise against VMI.
- Syracuse exposed defensive deficiencies we knew that were there for Georgia Tech. FSU has a mess at QB, and Georgia State was physically overmatched. There were signs GT would still struggle on defense and the Orange ran up over 500 yards that felt like at times it was 700. If there was a 3rd down stop to be made, Georgia Tech rarely made it. Tyler Santucci we know can coach defense, but he’s got real personal issues to coach around. Sometime there is just no answer to their guys being better than yours.
