ACC 2024 Football Schedule

Florida State

You know the story. Florida State was 13-0 ACC Champions and was robbed of their rightful spot in the college football playoff. It was at that moment college football became figure skating and the sport as far I am concerned was changed and not for the better. That’s a story for another day, and this year if Florida State wins the ACC they will be in the playoff. They might do it too. Mike Norvell has established him as one of the premier coaches in college football, and the returning players of last year’s team will be on a mission to put last year’s debacle of a selection behind them. DJ Uiagalelei has the massive shoes of Jordan Travis to fill in. Is he up to the task?

Will Go 13-0 (8-0) if:

If QB DJ Uiagalelei can have an All-ACC caliber season. I don’t think people understand just how good Jordan Travis was last year and the type of leader he was. When FSU and LSU played last year, Travis was the better QB in that game while facing eventual Heisman winner Jayden Daniels. Uiagelalei can’t just be adequate or a game manager, he has to be better than that for FSU to run the table. I’m not sure FSU will be as explosive on offense, they need their defense to be really good. There’s enough talent there to be an outstanding unit too. Georgia Tech out of the gate is a nice test in Ireland, but FSU if wins that one they should be 4-0 heading to SMU and playing Clemson in back-to-back games. Games at Miami and at Notre Dame won’t be easy, but there isn’t a team on the Noles schedule they can’t beat.

Will Go 8-4 (5-3) if:

There is a hangover from last season. There’s immense pressure on this year’s FSU team to reach the playoffs and right last year’s wrong. They have to do it with a QB in DJ Uiagalelei who struggled with expectations at Clemson. Georgia Tech is a dangerous opening game. Remember this Jacket team got into the 4th quarter with teams like Ole Miss and Georgia last year and appears on the upswing. It’s not out of the question that the Noles get upset there. A game at SMU is dangerous, and Clemson is looking to get back to the playoffs as well. The road games with Miami and Notre Dame could certainly be losses. Maybe there is another upset along the way, and the Noles can’t replace all the production from last year.
