Totally non-sports topic – Happy Friday, Fellow Atlantic Coast Conference fans!
I had a good chat with a former Northern Virginia Community College professor today (he is retired) – who also happens to be my tax preparer. He had to retire early from his teaching position because he had to go spinal cord surgery and he cannot walk anymore. He and his wife have two two-thirds ownership of a cottage on an Ottawa, Ontario lake – and another couple owns the other third. Every summer, he and his wife, his family, and the other couple visit for 30 days – so they avoid the DC heat – and they have owned the cottage for 21 years now. I think I talked with him for over 30 minutes. I am fortunate to know him – and when he comes back to the DC area for a visit – we will have a catch-up lunch.
I encourage you to spend some time with your prior educators if you can. They will appreciate that you remember them. It is so good for your soul.
