We are an ACC blog here obviously, and we’ve covered the ACC’s best conference games for 2024, and the ACC’s best non-conference games.
What 10 games that don’t feature an ACC team are we most looking forward to catching?
Here are games 6-10.
6) Texas vs Michigan – September 7, 2024
I wonder how much longer we will see home and home national games like this. Texas could win the national title, Michigan is the defending national champions and could prove with a win they might be ready a major player this year. If Texas wins this game Longhorn QB Quinn Ewers might jump to the front of the line in the Heisman chase. I got my eye on this one.
7) Ohio State vs Penn State – November 2, 2024
This game has my attention because I just want to see if James Franklin can beat Ohio State for the first time since 2016. The game is at Penn State and a late fall game at Penn State with a probable white out is one of the best scenes in college football. Ryan Day has owned James Franklin and Penn State.
8) Texas at Texas A&M – Novemer 30, 2024
Texas and Texas A&M haven’t played since 2011. That is ridiculous for one of the most intense rivalries in the country. I have to admit I’m looking forward to the return of this game. If you saw the baseball regional between the two teams you know what I’m talking about.
9) Army vs Navy, December 14, 2024
Come on it’s Army Navy… Arguably the single most pure rivalry game in all of collegiate football. It doesn’t matter what the records are, it’s a game you can’t miss.
10) Utah vs BYU – November 9, 2024
As we go through this list, you’ll see we’re partial for rivalry games. Give me a historical, deeply rooted matchup over any manufactured new realignment matchup. Utah vs BYU has always been the biggest matchup in the state of Utah, but the Holy War looked in trouble after their last matchup in 2021. This time conference realignment brought back the historic matchup as a Big 12 conference game. Utah should be really good, and BYU will be looking to rebound after a 5-7 2023.
