ACC Football Coach Rankings via CBSSports.com

A few days ago CBSSports.com’s Chip Patterson released their ACC Football Coaches rankings. 

Here are the rankings, detailed descriptions are in the article.

1. Dabo Swinney, Clemson
2. Mike Norvell, FSU
3. Dave Doeren, NC State
4. Jeff Brohm, Louisville
5. Dave Clawson, Wake Forest
6. Mario Cristobal, Miami
7. Mack Brown, North Carolina
8. Pat Narduzzi, Pittsburgh
9. Rhett Lashlee, SMU
10. Manny Diaz, Duke
11. Brent Pry, Virginia Tech
12. Bill O’Brien, Boston College
13. Brent Key, Georgia Tech
14. Justin Wilcox, California
15. Troy Taylor, Stanford
16. Tony Elliot, Virginia
17. Fran Brown, Syracuse

Ok do we agree with these rankings? I’m fine with 1-5. Dave Clawson though is teetering at the 5th spot, especially if there is a repeat of the 4-8 2023.

Too much credit is being giving Mario Cristobal for recruiting and transfer rankings. It’s about wins and losses, and Cristobal is 12-13 at Miami with a couple of coaching decisions that were among the worst in the ACC last year.

I’m not sure I agree with Brent Pry and Brent Key being at 11th and 13th either after the turnarounds for Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech last season.
