A glance at the NCAA Baseball Super Regionals

Predictably the two best baseball conferences in the country the SEC and ACC are dominating the NCAA Baseball Tournament.

Both conferences have placed 5 teams each in the Super Regionals. The SEC started with 11 teams, and the ACC just 8.

Who is going to make it to Omaha?

1) Tennessee vs Evansville

Great run by Evansville, but Tennessee is where the run ends.

Pick – Tennessee

2) Kentucky vs 15) Oregon State

Oregon State is one of the premier baseball programs in the country, and they will test Kentucky. I think the Wildcats have too much pitching though.

Pick – Kentucky

3) Texas A&M vs Oregon

Nice run for Oregon, but I can’t see them winning a series in College Station.

Pick – Texas A&M

4) UNC vs West Virginia

UNC took 2 of 3 from LSU including a stirring comeback against Monday night. They are battle-tested and very good. Sorry Neers.

Pick – UNC

12) Virginia vs Kansas State

Kansas State did Virginia a real solid by eliminating Arkansas. Virginia at home is very tough. I can’t see Kansas State pulling off another upset.

Pick – Virginia

6) Clemson vs Florida

Clemson was able to advance without their offense really playing well. Florida answered critics who thought they shouldn’t be in the field. This will be a tough series for Clemson, but I think their bats get going.

Pick – Clemson

7) Georgia vs 10) NC State

This might be the best matchup of the Super Regionals. Georgia has got guys that smash the ball. NC State has a quality staff. If there is a series that goes all 3 games. I think this is it, and I’m going with pitching. There has to be at least 1 upset in the Super Regionals right?

Pick – NC State

8) Florida State vs UConn

UConn had a spirited run winning at the Oklahoma regional. It feels like FSU is on a mission though.

Pick – Florida State
