It’s the purest form of sport. Everybody has a shot if they play their way in. No judges, no bias, and your media contract and stadium size don’t matter. If you win your conference tournament you can play for a national title.
The NCAA basketball tournaments are as fair and equitable as post-season that exist in sport, and SEC Greg Sankey wants to wreck it.
Greg Sankey is letting the mask slip off a little more. His quote from @PeteThamel’s well done story today on the future of the NCAA Tournament, tells you exactly what he wants to do with the tournament. He will destroy college athletics if they let him.https://t.co/BmiNRQ4UxO pic.twitter.com/xpDSe0G8Eq

I don’t even know where to begin with the lunacy of this. I’ve been screaming all year that the ACC deserves more than 3 bids that have been tossed around, but at no point did I say this should happen at the expense of smaller leagues’ autobids.
An SEC team hasn’t won a national title in over a decade and Greg Sankey is trying to convince us that his league deserves more bids. The SEC had 1 team play for a national title in the last decade. That’s fewer than West Coast Conference where Gonzaga played for the title twice.
Greg Sankey has already pretty much destroyed the already fractured college football post-season.
We can’t have him wreck another post-season.
