Two NCAA Caliber teams entered, and one left with their NCAA chances intact.
Pittsburgh beat Wake Forest Thursday 81-69. Wake Forest fell to 20-13 (11-9) NET 38 with the loss. They lost 4 of their last 6 games, and are just 1-8 against the Q1. Wake Forest is good enough to win a couple of games in the NCAA Tournament, but I don’t think they are going to make it in.
Pitt on the other hand improved to 22-10 (12-8) NET 45. Today gives them a 4th Q1 win, and they are 9-8 against the Q1/Q2.
Yes the OOC SOS is 315, but that’s one of the few metrics working against them, but it doesn’t seem to be affecting some of the Big 12 teams higher in many projections than Pitt. Iowa State OOC SOS is 313, Texas Tech 264, BYU 298, and TCU 345
In their last 15 games, Pittsburgh is 12-3 with wins at Duke, at Virginia, and at NC State and Wake Forest at neutral site. Those are All Q1 wins.
Put Pitt in the dance they belong there.
