December 19, 2023 ACC Basketball Power Rankings

15. Louisville (5-6, 0-1) NET – 268 / RPI – 324

Last Week – 15

Louisville actually looked like a real basketball team against Pepperdine. Hey it’s a start at least.

14.  Notre Dame (4-6, 0-1) NET – 221 / RPI – 171

Notre Dame has to absolutely beat The Citadel and Marist this week.

Last Week – 14

13. Florida State (4-5, 0-1) NET – 139 / RPI – 131

Last Week – 13

FSU showed zilch at home against SMU. Florida State is alot closer to Notre Dame and Louisville than Boston College and that’s not good.

12. Boston College (8-3, 0-1) NET – 80 / RPI – 73

Last Week – 13

A win over Lehigh should get BC to to 9-3.

11. NC State (7-3, 1-0) NET – 69 / RPI – 58

Last Week – 11

NC State got nothing during OOC play. Saint Louis and Detroit are this week. I expect the Wolfpack to win both.

10. Virginia Tech (8-3, 1-0) NET – 50 / RPI – 45

Last Week – 10

Virginia Tech looked good in a dangerous game with Vermont. They should 9-3 after playing American this week.

9. Wake Forest (7-3, 0-0) NET – 86 / RPI – 93

Last Week – 9

Wake Forest should extend their winning streak to 6 with Presbyterian College this week.

8. Syracuse (7-3, 0-1) NET – 75 / RPI – 21

Last Week – 8

Syracuse got a nice win over Oregon this past week. That will be worth more as the progress I suspect.

7. Georgia Tech (6-3, 1-0) NET – 160 / RPI – 134

Last Week – 7

Georgia Tech got a neutral site over Penn State this past week. Performing well in the Diamond Head Classic could be a huge boost to their season.

6. Pittsburgh (8-3, 0-1) NET – 40 / RPI – 121

Last Week – 6

Pitt doesn’t yet have a Q1 or Q2 win. They’ll have a lot of ground to make up during the ACC Conference season.

5. Miami (8-2, 1-0) NET – 63 / RPI – 28

Last Week – 5

Miami won’t have any problem getting to 10-2 before they play Clemson on January 3rd.

4. Duke (7-3, 0-1) NET – 24 / RPI – 86

Last Week – 4

Duke can show they are on track if they beat Baylor this week.

3. Virginia (9-1, 1-0) NET – 23 / RPI – 25

Last Week – 3

Virginia was shaky against Northeastern. If they win at Memphis, I would shoot Virginia up this list.

2. UNC (7-3, 1-0) NET – 37 / RPI – 62

Last Week – 2

UNC was again competitive against a good team. This time against Kentucky they played decently but couldn’t close the deal. Oklahoma is yet another opportunity.

1. Clemson (9-1, 1-0) NET – 15 / RPI – 2

Last Week – 1

I’m not going knock Clemson for a 2 point loss at Memphis. They should get to 11-1 before finishing the year.
