Michigan Really Doesn’t Have Many Paths to the College Football Playoff

Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.

We tired of Michigan getting any sort of hype.  As both @TalkinACCSports and I have talked about ad nauseum, if you think Ohio State or Michigan has a better resume than Washington, you like to talk about playoffs as an entitlement, but you don’t really watch college football.

Dan Mullen was right almost three weeks again – and he’s still right – Michigan’s schedule resume is trash.

I argue today that Michigan has to win vs. Ohio State or they are out (if Big Blue wins, I’d advise that you don’t lose the Big Ten Championship Game).  Same goes for Ohio State – beat Michigan to maintain your chances on getting to the College Football Playoff (but hey, don’t lose the Big Ten Championship Game).

Michigan basically needs chaos to happen if they lose to Ohio State.  They would need Washington to lose to Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship Game (in my opinion, Washington will need to be undefeated to get to the College Football Playoff – but if they are, they absolutely deserve the #1 seed over Georgia).  They would need Florida State to lose to Louisville.  They would need Texas to lose the Big-12 championship game.   While I think Georgia will defeat Alabama in the SEC Championship Game, it would certainly help Michigan’s case for Alabama to defeat Georgia.

Michigan simply doesn’t have the resume to be in the College Football Playoff without running the table.   Michigan supporters really need to be intellectually honest 😉
