14. Pittsburgh (2-8, 1-6)
Last Week – 14
Pittsburgh went ahead and put a stranglehold on being the ACC’s worst team in early November by giving up nearly 400 yards rushing to a Syracuse team that had a TE playing QB at times. Now they they host Boston College this week.
13. Syracuse (5-5, 1-5)
Last Week – 13
Syracuse may have found something against Pittsburgh running the ball. They will face arguably the worst rushing defense in college football in Georgia Tech.
12. Virginia (2-8, 1-5)
Last Week – 12
Virginia showed fight against Louisville but it was another hard luck loss. They host Duke this week, and I could see an upset.
11. Wake Forest (4-6, 1-6)
Last Week – 11
Wake Forest has been solid in recent years, but a trip to Notre Dame will officially end their bowl hopes this year. It’s been a long season for Dave Clawson.
10. Miami (6-4, 3-4)
Last Week – 9
Miami pushed Florida State, but actually beating them was a totally different animal. Louisville still has an outside shot at the playoffs, and the Canes can play spoiler.
9. Georgia Tech (5-5, 4-3)
Last Week – 8
The Bowling Green version of Georgia Tech showed up at Clemson in a game that wasn’t competitive. So here we go for Georgia They defeat Syracuse and they go bowling, because they aren’t beating UGA the week after.
8. Boston College (6-3, 3-2)
Last Week – 7
Boston College had been on a 5 game winning before Virginia Tech clobbered them in Chestnut Hill. They go to reeling Pitt this week.
7. Virginia Tech (5-5, 4-2)
Last Week – 10
Virginia Tech has flashed their potential this year in games like their route of Boston College. They get surging NC State this week. Can the Hokies get bowl-eligible at home? That would be a huge step forward for their program.
6. Duke (6-4, 3-3)
Last Week – 3
Duke gave a game effort at North Carolina without Riley Leonard. They go to Virginia. That is a dangerous game, and now there is the distraction of Mike Elko and the Texas A&M talk.
5. Clemson (6-4, 3-4)
Last Week – 6
Clemson seems to have it rolling now. They destroyed a Georgia Tech team that had been playing well. If they beat UNC, they could reappear in the top 25.
4. NC State (7-3, 4-2)
Last Week – 5
NC State has ridden its great defense to a 3 game-winning streak. The game at Virginia Tech will not be easy though.
3. North Carolina (8-2, 4-2)
Last Week – 4
North Carolina escaped Dukae 47-45 in 2 OTs. Drake Maye and the offense are fine, but that defense seems to be getting worse with each outing. Now they head to Clemson with the Tigers playing their best football of the year.
2. Louisville (9-1, 6-1)
Last Week – 2
Louisville is now playing with expectations each game out. They survived an uneven game against Virginia. Now they head to Miami to play a Canes team desperate for a win.
1. Florida State (10-0, 8-0)
Last Week – 1
Florida State got a test from Miami, but as they’ve done all year, they survived. North Alabama provides an opportunity to prep for Florida. The stakes just keep getting bigger for the Noles, and they keep answering.
