Pittsburgh and Syracuse matchup this week for sole control of the worst team in the ACC.
13. Syracuse (4-5, 0-5)
Last Week – 13
If Syracuse can’t knock off Pittsburgh, they may not win an ACC game this year.
12. Virginia (2-7, 1-4)
Last Week – 12
Virginia had shown some recent signs of life, and then they got streamrolled at home by Georgia Tech. They aren’t winning at Louisville this week.
11. Wake Forest (4-5, 1-5)
Last Week – 11
The game with NC State is intriguing. If Wake Forest can’t spring an upset, that might be it for their bowl hopes.
10. Virginia Tech (4-5, 3-2)
Last Week – 8
Virginia Tech was brought back to reality at Louisville. They go to BC to play an Eagle team on a 5 game winning streak.
9. Miami (6-3, 3-3)
Last Week – 3
Miami plummets down the rankings after looking dreadful at NC State. Too many other teams are playing well, that I can’t have them higher. Now that get national title contender and rival Florida State.
8. Georgia Tech (5-4, 4-2)
Last Week – 9
Georgia Tech is finding an identity with a power running game, and big play passing attack. Winning at Clemson will be difficult but they have a puncher’s chance.
7. Boston College (6-3, 3-2)
Last Week – 7
Boston College at 6-3 is bowl eligible. Could they really have an 8 or 9 win regular season? Yes, especially if they can beat Virginia Tech at home.
6. Clemson (5-4, 2-4)
Last Week – 10
Clemson finally looked something like Clemson beating top 15 Notre Dame this past weekend. The Tigers showed something Saturday, but can’t overlook Georgia Tech.
5. NC State (6-3, 3-2)
Last Week – 6
NC State’s defense is causing massive headaches for ACC opponents. Wake Forest on the road is certainly winnable and is a must to keep the Wolfpack’s momentum going.QB Brennan Armstrong is back after starting QB MJ Morris closed it down for season.
4. North Carolina (7-2, 3-2)
Last Week – 5
North Carolina righted the ship against overmatched Campbell. A home game with Duke could would have the winner sitting 3rd in these power rankings.
3. Duke (6-3, 3-2)
Last Week – 4
Duke without QB Riley Leonard is very limited offensively. If he can’t go, it’s hard to see Duke winning at North Carolina.
2. Louisville (8-1, 5-1)
Last Week – 2
Louisville inches ever closer to a trip to Charlotte. In their home stadium, they are dynamite, and you have to love their chances to get to 9-1 against Virginia this Thursday.
1. Florida State (9-0, 7-0)
Last Week – 1
Florida State was a bit uneven against Pitt, but they were without some of their best offensive players. Struggling Miami stands in their way of a 10-0 start.
