We ask the three biggest ACC football question marks of that week. Here we go for Week 10.
Does Clemson have a realistic shot against Notre Dame?
There’s a reason Notre Dame has won 31 of their last 32 ACC regular season football games. They’ve been really good the last few years. This year they are rock solid again, and well Clemson is less than that. I really wonder how Clemson will move the ball against the #11 ranked defense in the country. The Tiger’s offense can’t stretch the field, lacks playmakers, and confidence, and is mistake prone. Somehow Clemson is going to have to limit their turnovers, hope their defense plays lights out and gets the game into the 4th quarter. I’ll be honest I don’t give Clemson much chance here if Notre Dame plays even a decent game.
Does Louisville take a huge step towards Charlotte this weekend?
I love what Brent Pry has done in recent weeks at Virginia Tech, but winning at Louisville is a different animal. The Cardinals have been dynamite at home this year. Their defense is opportunistic and the offense is a load. Now if Virginia Tech somehow can pull the upset, they could start thinking about Charlotte. It would take a momental effort for the Hokies to win this game, with as good as Louisville is at home.
Can Miami win their third game in a row?
Miami is on a modest two-game winning streak, and now heads to NC State. The Wolfpack got a nice boost of confidence beating Clemson, but this is still an offensively challenged team. NC State is a feisty team at home nearly knocking off Louisville and getting a game with Notre Dame into the 4th quarter. Miami is a more complete team, but we haven’t seen them hit on all cylinders in about a month, and QB Tyler Van Dyke hasn’t looked sharp in a while. Getting going against a good NC State defense will be tough.
(Bonus Question) Is there any chance Pittsburgh can upset Florida State?
No
