I don’t understand why Notre Dame wouldn’t join the ACC because they might not ever lose a game again.
Notre Dame has won 30 straight ACC regular season games now after Notre Dame went 95 yards to beat Duke 21-14.
The last time Notre Dame lost an ACC regular season game was on November 11, 2017, at Miami in a 41-8 loss.
Since then – they’ve beaten Clemson twice when they were in the top 10, won in Tallahassee, and beat multiple ranked ACC teams on the road and at home. They’ve been in blowouts, defensive battles, and shootouts. They’ve won when they were ranked or unranked.
Duke had Notre Dame beat. The Blue Devils led 14-13 and had Notre Dame in a 4th and 16. Aggressive all night, and blitzing frequently on that drive – Duke inexplicably only rushed 3 and went into a soft prevent coverage.
Sam Hartman walked to a first down and it was the ball game.
Notre Dame can still reach the playoff if they run the table and get to 11-1.
Are they are any ACC teams that could stand in their way? Pittsburgh and Wake Forest will be no match for them.
The Irish do have to go on the road to play 5-0 Louisville next week and there is a game at Clemson on November 4.
I’m not sure Louisville is physically equipped to beat Notre Dame, and Clemson despite their talent hasn’t beaten a quality team OOC in literally years.
This streak might hit 34 games before the season is over and it’s not a good look for the ACC to be the Irish’s football play toy.
Someone needs to stop their reign of terror.
Louisville you get your shot in primetime next week.
