I saw this on twitter / X, Chris Fowler said it. Florida State didn’t just win tonight they made a statement.
Did they ever!
Down 17-14 at the half, Florida State went on an astonishing 31-0 run before a garbage LSU TD to literally suck the soul right out of a top 5 SEC opponent.
It was incredible to see.
I have been high on FSU QB Jordan Travis all summer. I called him the ACC’s best QB, and I think Drake Maye is an outstanding player. Tonight he was spectacular throwing for 342 yards and 4 TDs, and he is what makes him truly great. In the 2nd quarter, he had a couple of ugly sequences with an interception and a near interception inside his 15 yard line.
Like the great players do – he put that behind him and just played fantastic football the rest of the way out.
FSU’s front 4 playing against LSU’s own Heisman candidate Jayden Daniels never let him get comfortable. The secondary had some rough moments, but also made several plays in the 2nd half, and Florida State’s offensive line manhandled LSU in the 2nd half.
Based on resume shouldn’t Florida State move into the top 3?
It couldn’t have gone better for Florida State, and it was a great day for FSU and their fans.
