Good afternoon, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.
It wasn’t an A plus performance, but it’s the first game of the season – and the NC State Wolfpack got a football road win at the University of Connecticut. I’m sure Wolfpack fans knew that the Huskies would come to play at home – after getting blasted last year at NC State.
I’m also sure that many Wolfpack fans felt the old here we go again after that fast Huskies 1st quarter drive down the field.. but the Wolfpack defense settled in and stopped the Huskies most of the night. To be fair, there are concerns about the Wolfpack offense – and specifically the receivers. Also, Brennan Armstrong cannot be the leading rusher for this team – he is not that kind of player – and if the offense performs against Notre Dame the way it did against Connecticut, the Irish will absolutely hammer the Wolfpack. But it’s also important to take week one in stride – and know that this is a brand new offensive scheme.
So, yes, Wolfpack fans – it is only week one – but NC State is going to have to perform a lot better against Notre Dame. In the past, though, the Wolfpack would have lost this type of game – and they powered through to get the win.
