There are just under 6 months until the December National Football Signing Day. I’m not sure if high school recruiting is as critical as it was in the past with the transfer portal, but make no mistake it’s still pretty important.
As the ACC tries to turn to the corner on its football perception, we see in June 2023 that more than half of the ACC is currently in the top 40 in recruiting. We are starting to see tangible signs of ACC football improvement in the last 18 months, and the recruiting continues to look promising for next year.
Clemson has had a flurry of high-end commitments this month.
Brent Key continues to revamp the Georgia Tech roster, with possibly one of the better classes going in the ACC.
Florida State’s class is ranked down the ACC a bit, but don’t let that concern you. Outside of Clemson, they have more 4-star or higher commitments than anyone else in the ACC with at least 7 recruits of that rating by either recruiting service 247 or Rivals.
If by December the ACC still has 9 – 10 or more top 40 classes, that would certainly be another step in the right direction.
