The Louisville Cardinals finished last season 8-5 and 4-4 in the ACC with a fourth-place finish in the Atlantic behind Clemson, Florida State, and Syracuse. When Scott Satterfield jumped ship to be the new head coach at Cincinnati, Jeff Brohm, who was the head coach at Purdue decided to save the day for the Cardinals.
Louisville has added much-needed depth on its roster thanks to the transfer portal. In a matter of months, Brohm has brought in four-star QB Brady Allen from Purdue, three-star DB Storm Duck from Penn State, four-star DB Marcus Washington from Georgia among many others.
Some projections have Louisville only 5-7 games. No disrespect to them, but they obviously have not looked at the Cardinal’s 2023 schedule. The only ‘tough test’ for Brohm and the Cardinals is Notre Dame on October 7.
Louisville 2023 season prediction:
- Georgia Tech – W
- Murray State – W
- Indiana – W
- Boston College – W
- NC State – W
- Notre Dame – L
- Pitt – L
- Duke – W, (2 OT)
- Virginia Tech – W
- Virginia – W
- Miami – W
- Kentucky – W
The final predicted record for Louisville is (10-2, 7-1). I really feel good about the Cardinal’s schedule this year as there are really no ‘tough games’ compared to previous years. The NC State game could be the Cardinal’s first loss, but with a new quarterback leading the Wolfpack, it may be a rough start for them early this year as well. I said may be, because new NC State QB Brennan Armstrong is perfectly capable of lighting up a defense. We saw that plenty two years ago at Virginia.
