2023 Post-Spring ACC Football Power Rankings

14. Virginia

Injured during last year’s tragic events at UVa, Mike Hollins scoring a TD in the spring game was one the biggest highlights of the ACC Spring Football season. There’s potential at UVa for this season, but it’s harder to gauge the bottom of the league right now than the top.

13. Virginia Tech

QB Grant Well’s look good at QB, but the QB play behind him in the Spring Game is a concern. Brent Pry has a lot of questions to answer before the fall .

12. Boston College

It’s a hugely critical year for Jeff Hafley. QB Emmett Morehead had a pretty good spring game, so there’s hope.

11. Syracuse

Is Syracuse the team that started 6-0 or finished 1-7? The Spring Game showed the offense will be tough to deal with.

10. Georgia Tech

Georgia Tech QBs and receivers looked very solid in the Spring Game. A bowl game is a great goal for this team.

9. Wake Forest

Wake Forest has a lot of holes to fill, but never count out HC Dave Clawson.

8. Louisville

Jeff Brohm is back at Louisville as HC, but Malik Cunningham isn’t. If there is a wild card in the ACC it’s Louisville.

7. Miami

QB  Taylor Van Dyke looked much more comfortable in Miami’s offense during the spring game. That’s a good sign for the Canes.

6. Pittsburgh

Pitt lost some serious talent off last year’s team, but you can argue Phil Jurkovec is an upgrade at QB.

5. Duke

Duke is coming off a 9-win season and returns a good bit off that team. Mike Elko and the Blue Devils are going to be a tough out.

4. North Carolina

QB Drake Maye looked like a Heisman candidate for 3/4 of the season. If they can get anything from a porous defense they could be a surprise in the ACC.

3. NC State

Dave Doeren has NC State on firm footing. QB Brennan Armstrong threw a couple of INTs in the Spring Game, but that should be a pretty stout defense for the Wolfpack too. Armstrong will be fine, and the offense is going to be better than last year with new OC Robert Anae.

2. Clemson

I don’t have enough confidence in Clemson’s offense yet to put them over Florida State especially at receiver, but did you see freshman DL Peter Woods in the spring game? If Wes Godwin has matured as a DC, the defense will be really good.

1. Florida State

Florida State enters the season in its best shape since the mid-2000s. Jordan Travis is back the Noles are a dark horse playoff team and the ACC favorite.
