The Miami Hurricanes eliminated the final #1 seed (Houston) remaining in the NCAA Tournament.
I don’t want to say I told you so, but I told you this could happen before the brackets were even released.
You have to wait for the brackets, but I can very easily see not picking a single #1 seed to reach the final 4.
Kansas getting worked by Texas, and I don’t see a great team among any of the potential number 1 seeds. Very good teams – not great.

When you have elite guard play like Miami does, you shouldn’t fear any team. Miami doesn’t and now they are 1 game from the Final 4 after shredding to pieces an excellent Houston team with a lockdown defense 89-75. Do you know how many times Houston gave up more than 80 points before tonight? ZERO.
The Miami guards completely controlled the game. ACC player of the year Isaiah Wong had 20 points, Nigel Pack dropped 26 with 7 three-pointers, and Norchad Omeir was a grown man in the post pulling in 13 rebounds.
Should we be surprised at Miami’s run? Well, we said this before the tournament started.
Miami can go a long way in the NCAA Tournament, but it all depends on Norchad Omier’s ankle. Houston, Indiana, etc are in their end of the bracket. Miami can play with and beat any of them.
Jim Larranaga keeps adding to his legacy with back-to-back Elite 8 runs for Miami, and he might just add a national title to his resume.
And what do we make of the SEC and Big 10’s NCAA performance? More money, resources, and bids than they know what to do with (16 if you’re counting) and zero teams in the Elite 8.
Money can’t create the separation in basketball that it can with football. There are too many good basketball players in the country. It’s that simple.
