Pat Forde hatchet job on Virginia should have been for Purdue

March has exposed another team.. #1 Seed Purdue went to down #16 Seed Fairleigh Dickinson 63-58 in a stunning upset completing two straight seasons of March ineptitude likely to never be seen again. Purdue lost to a #16 seed and a #15 seed in back to back seasons. Throw in the 2021 season that saw Purdue lose to a #13 seed, and you have it – March’s biggest fraud.

Given all the financial resources that a Big 10 school like Purdue and its coach Matt Painter has, it’s an embarrassment that Painter has never reached the Final 4 in 18 years as head coach. It’s a record that deserves a proper ripping in print.

Pat Forde wrote such an article, but he wrote it about Tony Bennett and the Virginia Cavaliers yesterday. I won’t link the hatchet job, as I’m sure you can find it at your leisure. It was unfair, biased, and flat-out wrong following Virginia’s surprising loss to Furman.

No one will argue that Virginia hasn’t always accomplished what it should have in March. They also lost to a #16 seed as a #1 seed and had exits in the NCAA tournament that didn’t match their seeding.

They also won the 2019 National Championship.

Chronic frauds and underachievers don’t have national titles, they have bad tournaments.

Purdue is a fraud. Virginia is not.

As I checked yahoo.com for a Pat Forde article I looked for an article on Purdue. So far I don’t see one.

It was already written for the wrong team.
