ACC Basketball Power Rankings (March 2, 2023)

ACC Team of the Week : North Carolina for a 2-0 week with wins over Virginia and Florida State

15. Louisville (4-26, 2-17) NET Ranking 309

Last Week: 15

Let the debate begin after Louisville loses at Virginia. Are they the worst team in ACC history?

14. Notre Dame (11-19, 3-16) NET Ranking 180

Last Week: 14

Notre Dame played their most inspired ACC game of the year beating Pittsburgh and sending them to the bubble. Can they do it again at Clemson?

13. Florida State (9-21, 7-12) NET Ranking 219

Last Week: 13

It’s been a forgettable season at Florida State, but the comeback and last second game winning shot against Miami was epic. They go to Virginia Tech to finish the season.

12. Syracuse (16-14, 9-10) NET Ranking 131

Last week: 9

Syracuse has 4 straight double-digit losses. The home blowout to Georgia Tech was embarrassing. They finish the year with Wake Forest and hope it’s not 5 straight blowouts.

11. Georgia Tech (11-17, 5-14) NET Ranking 190

Last Week: 12

Georgia Tech won back to back ACC games. I repeat Georgia Tech won back to back ACC games including a record setting performance at Syracuse. Boston College is Saturday.

10. Virginia Tech (17-13, 7-12) NET Ranking 70

Last Week: 11

If Virginia Tech beats FSU at home, they’ll end the regular season with a 2 game winning streak in the ACC. Maybe the NIT is still in play?

9. Wake Forest (18-12, 10-9) NET Ranking 86

Last Week: 8

Wake Forest’s at large NCAA chance officially died when they lost to Boston College at home. Without winning the ACCT The goal is the NIT now.

8. Boston College (15-15, 9-10) NET Ranking 158

Last Week: 10

You want no part of Boston College next week in the ACCT. That is a confident team playing well. They finish the year with Georgia Tech at home.

7. Clemson (21-9, 13-6) NET Ranking 64

Last Week: 7

Clemson got a critical win at NC State. Now they need to take care of Notre Dame at home. They are still alive for the NCAAs.

6. NC State (22-9, 12-8) NET Ranking 41

Last Week: 5

NC State picked a bad time to lose their last 2 games. They are already preparing for the ACCT.

5. North Carolina (19-11, 11-8) NET Ranking 45

Last Week: 6

North Carolina needed a sweep over Virginia and FSU and they got it. If they beat Duke, they’ll be in great NCAA position.

4. Pittsburgh (21-9, 14-5) NET Ranking 55

Last week:  3

Pittsburgh couldn’t match Notre Dame’s energy in a sloppy performance. If they go to Miami and lose, they may need a win in the ACCT to get to the big dance.

3. Duke (22-8, 13-6) NET Ranking 23

Last Week: 5

Duke has played the ACC’s most consistent basketball in the last two weeks. If they win at UNC, are they the ACC’s best team?

2. Virginia  (22-6, 14-5) NET Ranking 30

Last Week: 2

Virginia took a step forward this past week with a solid performance at home against Clemson. Louisville shouldn’t be a problem.

1. Miami (23-6, 14-5) NET Ranking 35

Last Week: 1

Miami blowing a 20+ point lead to FSU at home was a stunner. They hang onto the #1 spot, but barely. The game with Pitt at home will decide the ACCT #1 seed.
