ACC Power Rankings after Bowl Season

ACC Team of the Week : Pittsburgh – for a 37-35 win over #18 UCLA in the Sun Bowl

14. Virginia  (3-7)

Last Week: 14

What will the offense look like without Brennan Armstrong?

13. Virginia Tech (3-8)

Last Week: 13

Justin Fuente left a mess for Brent Pry didn’t he?

12. Boston College (3-9)

Last Week: 12

Jeff Hafley has a little bit of a hot seat going into next season.

11. Miami (5-7)

Last Week: 11

At least Miami is recruiting well…

10. Georgia Tech (5-7)

Last Week : 10

Brent Key beat 3 teams that won 9 games this year.

9. Syracuse (7-6)

Last week: 9

Talk about a roller coaster season at Syracuse and Dino Babers. They weren’t very good by years end.

8. Wake Forest (8-5)

Last Week: 8

Wake Forest had a disappointing 2nd half of the season, but finished strong with a bowl win over Missouri.

7. North Carolina (9-5)

Last Week: 7

North Carolina had Oregon beat, and let it get away – just like their season. At least Drake Maye is back.

6. NC State (8-5)

Last Week: 6

The defense was so good, and the offense was so bad. It was more of the same in an ugly bowl loss to Maryland.

5. Louisville (8-5)

Last Week: 5

Louisville has a lot of momentum after a good 2nd half of the season, a bowl win, and Jeff Brohm taking over as head coach.

4. Duke (9-4)

Last Week: 3

I dropped Duke, but that is due to Pitt’s strong bowl win. Duke’s 9-4 season including bowl was simply remarkable. Mike Elko did an amazing job.

3. Pitt (9-4)

Last week:  4

Pittsburgh had the best bowl win of an ACC team this year with an improbable comeback against #18 UCLA. Backup QB Nick Patti came up big.

2. Clemson (11-3)

Last Week: 1

Cade Klubnik looked talented but clearly inexperienced in the bowl loss to Tennessee. Dabo Swinney has some serious soul-searching to do about whether he wants his program to be pretty good or great.

1. Florida State (10-3)

Last Week: 2

Florida State got an unexpected test from Oklahoma in their bowl game, but they found a way to win. FSU can’t wait for 2023 to start.
