The maturation of Florida State football continues with bowl win.

Florida State didn’t play their best football in a 35-32 Cheez-It Bowl win victory over Oklahoma. The Sooners came out motivated, and with an excellent offensive game plan that kept the Noles off-balance the entire game.

As the Seminoles continue to re-establish their program, they did what mature football programs do. They found a way to win.

If FSU QB Jordan Travis isn’t on the shortlist of 2023 pre-season Heisman candidates, then the college football world simply isn’t paying attention.

Travis like he did against Florida willed the Noles to victory accumulating over 450 yards of total offense. He’s been the centerpiece of the Noles’s resurgence. He’s poised, and athletic, and has become a top-notch quarterback this year. That’s a big reason why Florida State is celebrating its first 10-win season since 2016.

It was the year that included victories over LSU, Florida, and Oklahoma and a second place finish in one of college football’s best divisions the ACC Atlantic.

Head Coach Mike Norvell deserves a lot of credit for being the architect of this Florida State rebuild.

He’s utilized the transfer portal, recruited well, and got his players to buy in to his brand of football.

The Noles will enter next season as the possible ACC favorite, and likely will be a pre-season top 10 team.

Welcome back Florida State… College Football is better when you are one of the teams in the top 15.

With the victory, the ACC is 4-2 in bowl games and needs just 1 more bowl for the conference’s first winning bowl season since 2018.
