ACC Basketball Power Rankings (December 22, 2022)

ACC Team of the Week : UNC – for beating Ohio State and Michigan.

NET Rankings are from – https://www.warrennolan.com/basketball/2022/net

15. Louisville (2-10, 0-2) NET Ranking 346

Last Week: 15

Well, Louisville won’t go winless. I guess there’s that. Now we will see if they can win an ACC basketball game at some point.

14. Georgia Tech (6-5, 0-2) NET Ranking 145

Last Week: 12

Georgia Tech lost 15 ACC games last year. That sounds about right for this year. The school really should be thinking about moving on from Josh Pastner.

13. Florida State (4-10, 2-1) NET Ranking 252

Last Week: 14

Hey, Florida State has won three of their last four!

12. Boston College (7-6, 1-1) NET Ranking 229

Last Week: 13

Boston College should play Virginia Tech every game, because they own them.

11. Notre Dame (7-5, 0-2) NET Ranking 185

Last Week: 11

Notre Dame is an ACC afterthought this year.

10. Syracuse (8-5, 1-1) NET Ranking 153

Last week: 10

Syracuse hasn’t won more than 10 ACC games since the 2013-2014 season, and it’s probably not happening this year.

9. Pitt (9-4, 2-0) NET Ranking 70

Last week:  9

Pitt is in great shape for the post-season. We’ll see if it’s NIT or NCAA. This is a team to watch.

8. Wake Forest (9-4, 1-1) NET Ranking 87

Last Week: 8

Wake Forest got a much-needed win over Duke. That gets the Deacs back into the NCAA picture.

7. Clemson (10-3, 2-0) NET Ranking 78

Last Week: 7

At times Clemson looks like an NCAA team. There are pieces, but they need consistency.

6. NC State (11-3, 1-2) NET Ranking 42

Last Week: 5

NC State has good computer numbers, but they need to get back to .500 in the ACC. They barely slip into the NCAAs if I were making the field this week.

5. Virginia Tech (11-2, 1-1) NET Ranking 29

Last Week: 4

There are all kinds of questions about Virginia Tech after their listless effort at Boston College.

4. Duke (10-3, 1-1) NET Ranking 18

Last Week: 2

Duke still lacks consistent perimeter shooting, but they are otherwise pretty solid.

3. North Carolina (9-4, 1-1) NET Ranking 26

Last Week: 5

Yea that’s North Carolina starting to get things together after wins over Ohio State and Michigan. They are slowly trending towards being the team most thought they could be.

2. Virginia  (8-2, 1-1) NET Ranking 17

Last Week: 1

Virginia’s resume speaks for itself, but their offense has regressed in the last couple of weeks.

1. Miami (12-1, 3-0) NET Ranking 48

Last Week: 3

Why shouldn’t put Miami be number 1 in the ACC right now? They are 5-1 against the Q1/Q2 and just beat Virginia.
