The ACC’s three biggest questions of week 14.

Is Florida State really the ACC’s best team?

Yes – at this point, I’d question if you’ve watched football in the last month if you don’t think so. UNC has lost its continuity on offense, and the defense has had holes all year. Clemson’s offense is barely worth discussing, and their defense has underwhelmed. Florida State is just better right now. They are getting a great QB play from Jordan Travis. The defense had issues against Florida but has mostly been solid in the 2nd of half of the season. They are the only ACC team that didn’t wilt during ACC/SEC rivalry week. It doesn’t matter what happens Saturday, FSU probably beats either Clemson or UNC if they played today by 10-21 points.

Who wins the ACC Title Saturday?

As mentioned above Clemson and UNC are entering the ACCCG with all kinds of problems. Somebody broke Drake Maye who looks like a shell of the QB he was a month ago at UNC. Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei has gone from average to a total trainwreck. UNC’s offense and Clemson’s defense still had good moments, it’s the other side of the ball for both that doesn’t look fixable. If Clemson can run the ball they’ll avoid allowing Uiagalelei to make a mistake in the passing game. I think that will be just enough to win.

Is Boston College coach Jeff Hafley in trouble?

In his third season at Boston College, Jeff Hafley went 3-9. Hafley has only won 4 ACC games in the last two years. Against Syracuse, BC was in a position to win and let the game get away from them late. He just got a 5-year extension in 2021, that runs through 2026. Hafley probably should be in more trouble than he will be due to that contract. He’ll be back next year, but it may be a make-or-break season for Hafley.
