ACC Team of the Week : NC State – for 2-1 record at Battle of Atlantis (Wins Dayton and Butler)
NET rankings and NCAA Projections will be added in future polls.
15. Louisville (0-6)
Last Week: 15
Mark your calendars for December 10 when Louisville plays Florida State.
14. Florida State (1-7)
Last Week: 14
I don’t think Florida State is going to make the NCAA tournament. Just a guess…
13. Syracuse (3-3)
Last week: 12
Illinois is going to hurt Syracuse this week.
12. Boston College (5-2)
Last Week: 13
Boston College has won two in a row. Seriously!
11. Georgia Tech (4-2)
Last Week : 9
Georgia Tech looked awful against Utah and Marquette. In 80 minutes, they played maybe 15 minutes of competitive basketball.
10. Pitt (5-3)
Last week: 11
Pittsburgh has won three games in a row. All by double digits. Could they be worth paying attention to? If you saw the 3 pt shooting performance against Northwestern Monday they are.
9. Clemson (5-2)
Last Week: 10
Clemson played well in a close game with Iowa, then beat California. In this year’s ACC that’s not a bad week.
8. Wake Forest (6-1)
Last Week: 8
If Wake Forest can win at Wisconsin, they might have something.
7. Notre Dame (5-1)
Last Week: 7
I’m not sure what to think of Notre Dame yet. Ask me after they host Michigan State.
6. Virginia Tech (7-1)
Last Week: 5
Minnesota is a good test this week for Virginia Tech. I like this team’s guard play, and it showed up in a big way against Minnesota.
5. Miami (6-1)
Last Week: 4
The road win at UCF could look pretty good by year’s end.
4. Duke (6-2)
Last Week: 3
Duke has talent and got a decent win over Xavier. Purdue let them know they have a lot of room for growth.
3. North Carolina (5-2)
Last Week: 2
North Carolina let games against NCAA-level opponents Iowa State and Alabama slip away. This is a good team, but they don’t know how to close quality teams out.
2. NC State (6-1)
Last Week: 6
NC State has been the ACC’s most pleasant surprise this side of Virginia.
1. Virginia (5-0)
Last Week: 1
The game at Michigan is going to be fun.
