Virginia Tech Football Must Ferociously Recruit the NCAA Transfer Portal

Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.

In 2022, Virginia Tech is likely to end the football season with a 3-9 or even 2-10 record.  I know sound incredibly negative, but I generally pick the team with the better players in trenches – offensive and defensive lines – and quarterbacks (QBs).  The only game I think Virginia has a chance in the rest of the season is vs. Virginia – but even that’s iffy because the Hoos have the better QB (the game is in Blacksburg, so that’s the saving grace.).

Brent Pry and the coaching staff spent most of their time after they were hired to rebuild high school recruiting relationships in the Commonwealth of Virginia (Kudos to them for that).  However, for the 2022 football season, one of the major criticisms of the Pry staff was their lack of focus on recruiting the NCAA transfer portal.

In 2023, that cannot happen again for the Pry staff.

To answer Steve’s question, there are endless Virginia Tech football recruiting needs, which can be answered through the NCAA transfer portal.  If Virginia Tech can find a starting QB through the NCAA transfer portal, I say yes – do it.  The Hokies need help on the offensive and defensive lines, defensive back, wide receiver, QB, you name it – I sound like an auctioneer here – but it’s true.  The Hokies have one of the least talented teams in the ACC – and the transfer portal is where you can improve your team in a hurry.

Thanks for listening.

Have a great holiday weekend with your friends and families!
