ACC Power Rankings after Week 7

ACC Team of the Week : Syracuse – for a 24-9 win over NC State

14. Virginia  (2-4)

Last Week: 14

Can Virginia pull out of the ACC’s bottom by beating resurgent Georgia Tech?

13. Virginia Tech (2-5)

Last Week: 13

Well at least Virginia Tech won’t lose to BYE this week.

12. Boston College (2-4)

Last Week: 12

Boston College faces the ACC’s most dynamic offense in Wake Forest… good luck.

11. Louisville (3-3)

Last Week: 11

Pittsburgh is the first of a brutal finish to Louisville’s schedule. Is this the beginning of the end for Scott Satterfield?

10. Duke (4-3)

Last Week: 10

Duke is certainly improved, but if they lose to Miami they will have lost their 4th game in a row.

9. Miami (3-3)

Last Week: 9

Miami hosts a tricky Duke team this weekend. If they knock off Duke, they may be able to salvage the season.

8. Georgia Tech (3-3)

Last Week : 8

Georgia Tech is playing a meaningful game in late October. That hasn’t happened since before you know who. If they beat Virginia they’ll be right in the Coastal chase.

7. Pitt (4-2)

Last week:  7

I thought there was a better chance of Pitt being 7th in the country than 7th in the ACC. If they lose to Louisville the season will fall apart, but they still took Tennessee to OT. Bring on Alabama!

6. Florida State (4-3)

Last Week: 4

Florida State has been the ACC’s most up and down team. Georgia Tech will be their opponent after the BYE week.

5. NC State (5-2)

Last Week: 2

NC State without QB Devin Leary is a totally different team, that is going to have to rely on its defense even more than before. They get a BYE week to try and get their offense right.

4. North Carolina (6-1)

Last Week: 5

North Carolina gets a week off to enjoy their 6-1 start, and prepare for Pittsburgh.

3. Syracuse (6-0)

Last week: 4

Beating NC State was one of Syracuse’s biggest wins in years. They deserve that top 15 ranking, and that win over Purdue keeps looking better.

2. Wake Forest (5-1)

Last Week: 3

Wake Forest shouldn’t have much problem with Boston College this weekend. Can they get into the top 10 at some point this year?

1. Clemson (7-0)

Last Week: 1

Clemson has a firm grasp on the ACC now, but don’t look past Syracuse this weekend.
