Saturday is a special event at Boston College. Not only is playoff contender Clemson headed to Boston College, but this is the Red Bandana game for Boston College.
If you don’t know the history of the game, it’s the story of 9/11 Hero and former Boston College lacrosse player Welles Crowther who saved multiple lives that tragic day.

Here is the story of Welles Crowther, with a quote from the article at bcgavel.com.
Crowther’s story is one of heroism and self-sacrifice, so his remembrance should not and will not be limited to this weekend’s game. Crowther is nothing short of a hero at his alma mater, let alone within humanity, and his legacy means so much more to Boston College than any sporting event ever could.
