ACC Coaching Hotseat rankings through 4 games.

We go from coldest to hottest.

0 – Ice Cold

1 – Still cool

2 – There’s smoke

3 – Getting Warm

4 – On Fire

5 – Start working on the resume

Dabo Swinney, Clemson  = 0

Dabo Swinney is what we call an untouchable. They are 4-0 too.

Dave Clawson, Wake Forest = 0

Dave Clawson has another strong looking Wake Forest team in 2022. He’s adored by Deac fans.

Mike Elko, Duke – 0

Duke sits 3-1 under first year coach Mike Elko. He’s turned Duke into a decent football team really fast. What more can you do in year 1?

Dave Doeren, NC State = 0

NC State has lived up to the pre-season hype starting the year 4-0. Now if that FG was made against East Carolina, we could be talking about failing to meet expectations. Hey even Alabama has an escape win this year.

Pat Narduzzi, Pittsburgh = 0

Pat Narduzzi has Pitt looking like the heavy Coastal favorite. Their only loss was in OT against a solid Tennessee team.

Tony Elliot, Virginia  = .5

There isn’t much Tony Elliot can do with a makeshift offensive line, though it does seem like QB Brennan Armstrong has regressed some.

Brent Pry, Virginia Tech – .5

Pry inherited a mess, but Virginia Tech still shouldn’t have lost to Old Dominion. That said we won’t truly know about Pry until he gets better players.

Mike Norvell, Florida State  = .5

Mike Norvell needs to keep the momentum going but the early returns on the season look really good at 4-0. The win over LSU really opened some eyes.

Mario Christobol, Miami = 1

Losing to Texas A&M is one thing, getting thrashed at home by Middle Tennesse could be a red flag from Christobol. It’s still year 1 though.

Dino Babers, Syracuse  = 1

Dino Babers has really cooled his seat off with a 4-0 likely 5-0 start after Syracuse plays Wagner.

Jeff Hafley, Boston College = 3

Jeff Hafley lost his offensive line and Boston College looks like one of the ACC’s worst teams. You can’t have that in year 3.

Mack Brown, UNC  = 3.5

The 3-0 start seemed a little paper thin. A struggling Notre Dame came into Chapel Hill, and reality set in. The defense is a total disaster, and Brown’s second tenure at UNC has been one big pile of meh.

Scott Satterfield, Louisville = 4

Louisville is an underwhelming 2-2, but the next two games against BC and Virginia may define the season and whether Satterfield survives.

Geoff Collins, Georgia Tech  = 100

The hotseat for Geoff Collins is off the charts. He’s basically sitting in an inferno after 1-3 start where Georgia Tech looks as poorly coached as ever. He’s finished.
