Syracuse just keeps winning

One of the ACC’s biggest surprises just keeps getting it done. Syracuse put together another late game-winning drive to defeat Virginia 22-20 to move to 4-0. They definitely didn’t play their best turning the ball over 3 times, but that’s what good teams do.

They win without their best game.

Look eventually Syracuse is going to lose some games. NC State, Clemson, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Florida State, and Wake Forest are still on the schedule.

That said are going to get 5-0 with Wagner next, and they are going to win a few of those games in that brutal stretch.

They have a solid QB in Garrett Schrader, a terrific RB with Sean Tucker, and a just stingy enough defense. Having former Lou Groza award-winning kicker Andre Szmyt helps in close games too.

This is a team few had making a bowl game this year, and even fewer winning seven or eight games in the regular season. Those goals are very much in play. That’s a credit to head coach Dino Babers who has shaken off pre-season hot-seat rumors to give Syracuse their best start since 2018. I’m calling the 5-0 record which would be Syracuse’s best start since the 11-0-1 1987 season.

Syracuse has been one of the ACC’s best early season stories and Dino Babers is currently in the thick of the ACC COY race.

Times are good in Syracuse.
