ACC Power Rankings after Week 3

ACC Team of the Week : Syracuse – for a 32-29 win over Purdue

14. Georgia Tech (1-2)

Last Week : 14

After a 42-0 loss to Ole Miss, we’re just waiting for the official announcement that Geoff Collins is fired. Colorado vs Georgia Tech would make for a fine game of total ineptness.

13. Boston College (1-2)

Last Week: 13

Boston College got a victory this past weekend, but heading to a hot Florida State could send them to 1-3. BC says thanks goodness for  Georgia Tech.

12. Virginia  (2-1)

Last Week: 12

Virginia barely survived Old Dominion. Syracuse on the road is going to be a very difficult game for the uneven Hoos.

11. Virginia Tech (2-1)

Last Week: 11

Virginia Tech is getting by with their defense. A win over West Virginia could show really growth with the Hokies.

10. Louisville (1-2)

Last Week: 9

Louisville let a major opportunity against Florida State slip away. They couldn’t beat a Nole team with their backup QB on their home field while leading in the 2nd half. Scott Satterfield’s seat continues to grow hotter.

9. Duke (3-0)

Last Week: 10

3-0 Duke playing at 3-0 Kansas. Is it basketball? There are several surprise teams in the ACC this year, and Duke is one of the biggest.

8. Syracuse (3-0)

Last week: 8

I have Syracuse 8th on this list and it’s just proof how deep this league. You can argue Syracuse should be in the top 25 after their win over Purdue. Can they get to 4-0 this week?

7. North Carolina (3-0)

Last Week: 7

If UNC’s defense can take at least 1 step forward, they’ll beat Notre Dame.

6. Miami (2-1)

Last Week: 4

Miami should have beat Texas A&M. They outplayed the Aggies, but just couldn’t make plays in the redzone. In the end the final score is what matters, the Canes lost a winnable game.

5. Wake Forest (3-0)

Last Week: 5

Wake Forest finally put away a feisty Liberty team. I’ll move them into the top 2 if they beat Clemson this week.

4. Pitt (2-1)

Last week:  6

Pittsburgh could be set to win 3, 4 or more games in a row starting with Rhode Island.

3. Florida State (3-0)

Last Week: 4

Why isn’t Florida State ranked? Boston College is this week, and if they beat them and remain unranked – the fix is in.

2. NC State (3-0)

Last Week: 2

NC State took care of business against a decent Texas Tech team. That’s a step that this program is growing. UCONN is effectively a prep game before the showdown with Clemson.

1. Clemson (3-0)

Last Week: 1

If the Clemson team that showed up the first 3 weeks plays Wake Forest, they’ll lose. That said, they are as healthy as they’ve been all year. Is this the breakout game?
