ACC Power Rankings after Week 1

ACC Team of the Week : Florida State – for a 24-23 win over LSU

14. Georgia Tech (0-1)

Last Week : 13

Georgia Tech had some good moments against Clemson, but the fact is their opponents are on a 154-16 scoring run against them going back to last year.

13. Virginia Tech (0-1)

Last Week: 10

The loss at Old Dominion just showed how much work Brent Pry has to do at Virginia Tech.

12. Duke (1-0)

Last Week: 14

Mike Elko’s debut went perfect with a shutout of Temple. If they win at Northwestern, that will really catch our attention.

11. Louisville (0-1)

Last Week: 6

What was so disturbing about Louisville is they didn’t even look like they wanted to compete against Syracuse. They better raise their level of play against UCF.

10. Boston College (0-1)

Last Week: 9

Boston College sloppy play led to a surprising ugly loss to Rutghers. The loser of BC and Virginia Tech will be 0-2, and I really don’t like that’s team chances of turning it around.

9. Syracuse (1-0)

Last week: 12

Syracuse dominated Louisville in an easy win. The Cuse play serious D, and game at UCONN should send them to 2-0.

8. North Carolina (2-0)

Last Week: 11

North Carolina’s defense still has a lot of issues, but they won at Appalachian State. That counts. Georgia State gives UNC a chance to start 3-0. Drake Maye is the real deal at QB.

7. Virginia  (1-0)

Last Week: 7

Virginia can make a statement with a win at Illinois.

6. Wake Forest (1-0)

Last Week: 5

Sam Hartman is back! Sam Hartman is back! Vanderbilt is next and they are improved.

5. Miami (1-0)

Last Week: 4

Southern Miss will be a step up in competition, but next week is the real test when the Canes head to Texas A&M.

4. Florida State (2-0)

Last Week: 7

Florida State’s win over LSU really moves them up. Now they get to enjoy a week off.

3. Pitt (1-0)

Last week:  3

Pittsburgh started off their season right by winning the Backyard Brawl over West Virginia. A win over Tennesse, and I might put them #1 on this list. They would have the best pair of wins in the ACC.

2. NC State (1-0)

Last Week: 2

NC State definitely had problems with East Carolina, but I’m not letting one struggle win change my opinion about NC State. I like this team long-term.

1. Clemson (1-0)

Last Week: 1

Clemson’s defense is as good as advertised. The offense is still showing some of the issues of last year. Furman should Clemson a chance to work on things.
