ACC Basketball Power Rankings January 3, 2022

15. Pittsburgh (5-8, 0-2) NET Ranking 210

Last Week: 15

Pittsburgh has been really close to their first ACC win. For the for first time this year, I think Pitt has a shot not to end up at the bottom of these rankings.

14. Boston College (6-6, 1-1) NET Ranking 182

Last week: 14

Boston College is a struggling team. If they lose to Pitt this week, they may end up taking over Pitt’s spot.

13. Georgia Tech (6-6, 0-2) NET Ranking 174

Last Week : 13

Georgia Tech really has issues generating easy buckets. I’m not sure the season is salvageable.

12. NC State (7-7, 0-3) NET Ranking 181

Last Week: 12

Remember when NC State almost beat Purdue? They’ve lost 4 more games since then, and Kevin Keatts is in big trouble.

11. Syracuse (7-6, 1-1) NET Ranking 111

Last Week: 6

Syracuse has been of the ACC’s biggest disappointments. They should be better than this and their defense is a mess.

10. Florida State (7-4, 1-1) NET Ranking 68

Last Week: 11

Florida State has a ton of ground to make up before even thinking about the NCAA Tournament.

9. Clemson (9-4, 1-1) NET Ranking 50

Last Week: 10

Clemson has been a nice surprise. I’ll really buy them if they knock off Virginia and NC State this week.

8. Virginia (8-5, 2-1) NET Ranking 92

Last Week: 9

Let’s not forget about Virginia’s win over 13-1 Providence, but it will only matter if the Hoos stay above .500 in the ACC.

7. Notre Dame (6-5, 1-1) NET Ranking 107

Last Week: 8

The Irish have won 3 games in a row. If they sweep UNC and Georgia Tech, they could play their way on to the bubble.

6. Virginia Tech (8-5, 0-2) NET Ranking 29

Last Week: 4

The Hokies have looked better than their record. They will be one of the ACC’s better teams at year’s end.

5. Wake Forest (11-3, 1-2) NET Ranking 56

Last week: 2

Wake Forest is coming back down to earth, but if they get home wins this week against FSU and Syracuse they will be back on track.

4. Louisville (9-4, 3-0) NET Ranking 73

Last Week: 7

Keep an eye on Louisville. They have some decent OOC wins, and are off to a 3-0 start in the ACC.

3. Miami (11-3, 3-0) NET Ranking 95

Last week: 5

The Canes have 6 wins in a row, and that will fly you up this poll.

2. North Carolina (10-3, 2-0) NET Ranking 35

Last Week: 3

UNC is a slightly better than bubble quality team, but they are #2 on this list.

1. Duke  (11-1, 1-0) NET Ranking 8

Last Week: 1

Duke isn’t playing to win the ACC, they are playing for a number 1 seed.
