ACC Team of the Week : North Carolina – for a 58 – 55 win over Wake Forest.
14. Duke (3-6)
Last Week: 14
The pillow fight between Duke and Virginia Tech should be epic. Two bad teams, with two hot seat coaches going no where.
13. Georgia Tech (3-6)
Last Week : 12
Another week, another loss for Geoff Collins. If it’s the 4th quarter, and it’s close Georgia Tech will find a way to lose. At least they aren’t Duke, I guess. Boston College is their last realistic shot at W win this year.
12. Virginia Tech (4-5)
Last Week: 11
Was that a listless effort at Boston College. How did it get this bad for Justin Fuente at Virginia Tech? This is a bad team.
11. Boston College (5-4)
Last Week: 13
Hmm… QB Phil Jurkovec is back. Watch out for the finish from this team. Reeling Georgia Tech is winnable.
10. Florida State (3-6)
Last Week: 9
I thought FSU would give NC State a tougher game, even with some of their injuries. NC State had guys out too. A win over Miami would really be a boost for Mike Norvell.
9. Louisville (4-5)
Last Week: 8
Louisville had 4 tries inside the 5 yard line to beat Clemson. They didn’t and that’s why Louisville fans continue to turn on Scott Satterfield.
8. North Carolina (5-4)
Last Week: 10
The Heels are playing without pressure of expectations, and just knocked off Wake Forest. A game at Pitt should interesting.
7. Syracuse (5-4)
Last week: 6
Syracuse and Louisville have a game this week with major bowl implications.
6. Miami (5-4)
Last Week: 7
Miami played their worst game in weeks, and still found a way to put away Georgia Tech. If the Canes beat FSU, the season will be officially turned around.
5. Virginia (6-3)
Last Week: 5
Oh if Virginia could beat Notre Dame, and they can, it would be the biggest OOC win for an ACC team in 2 years. It can happen if Brennan Armstrong plays.
4. Clemson (6-3)
Last Week: 4
After surviving Louisville, Clemson gets a break this week against UCONN. I don’t think they lose another game in the regular season.
3. Pitt (7-2)
Last week: 3
Pitt got off to a slow start, but took care of Duke. They must beat North Carolina to stay in front of the ACC Coastal race.
2. Wake Forest (8-1)
Last Week: 1
I can’t buy a defense on a team that is this bad. Wake Forest can’t keep outscoring everyone, and they couldn’t outscore UNC. The game against NC State probably decides the ACC Atlantic.
1. NC State (7-2)
Last Week: 2
NC State may be the ACC’s most balanced team. They have a solid defense, and dangerous QB Devin Leary. It should be a great game against Wake Forest.
