ACC Power Rankings after Week 9

ACC Team of the Week : Miami – for a 38 – 34 upset of the Pittsburgh Panthers.

14. Duke (3-5)

Last Week: 14

Is Duke headed towards winless ACC Season? They are getting an angry bunch of Pitt Panthers this week.

13. Boston College (4-4)

Last Week: 13

I believe in Jeff Hafley, but as the season continues Boston College is getting worse with each passing week.

12. Georgia Tech (3-5)

Last Week : 10

Geoff Collins better make some staff changes in the off-season. Year three, and no progress is not what Jacket fans expected.

11. Virginia Tech (4-4)

Last Week: 12

Justin Fuente met his 4th quarter match in inexplicable decision making in out dueling Geoff Collins which says more about Collins than anything. Boston College does provide an opportunity to win two in a row.

10. North Carolina (4-4)

Last Week: 11

North Carolina did give Notre Dame some problems as expected, but defensively collapsed. They’ll have fun with Wake Forest’s offense.

9. Florida State (3-5)

Last Week: 9

Florida State is a work in progress, but is an improved team. An upset of NC State wouldn’t surprise me.

8. Louisville (4-4)

Last Week: 8

Louisville’s season is teetering in the wrong direction. Now they get a Clemson team with one of the best defenses in college football.

7. Miami (4-4)

Last Week: 8

Break out the Canes after the upset of Pittsburgh. Taylor Van Dyke looks like a QB to build around, and now they get reeling Georgia Tech at home.

6. Syracuse (5-4)

Last week: 7

One of the ACC’s most improved teams from last year get a well earned off week.

5. Virginia  (6-3)

Last Week: 3

Virginia’s defense was embarrassed giving up 66 points to BYU, and now must deal a with Brennan Armstrong injury.  They have a week to prepare for Notre Dame.

4. Clemson (5-3)

Last Week: 5

I can’t say Clemson turned the corner against Florida State, but a running game is starting to develop. A win at Louisville would prove they are starting to trend in the right direction.

3. Pitt (6-2)

Last week: 2

Pitt can still win the Coastal even after a loss to Miami. Duke this week will help right the ship.

2. NC State (6-2)

Last Week: 4

NC State has a bunch injuries, but a showed a lot of guts to beat Louisville. Florida State this week is certainly no break.

1. Wake Forest (8-0)

Last Week: 1

The Deacs keep rolling, and have to be considered for the playoff chase. Don’t go losing to North Carolina now Wake Forest.
