Five Coaches ACC Programs should be looking to hire.

From Miami, to Atlanta, through Durham, into Blacksburg, and across to Louisville and beyond some ACC programs may be looking for a new head coach in 2022. Here are 5 coaches that should be on any school’s radar of they decide to make a change.

Jamey Chadwell, Coastal Carolina

Chadwell has only made Coastal Carolina a Sun Belt power going 11-1 and finishing in the top 15 in 2020, and is currently producing another top 25 team. They’ve only been in an FBS team since 2015, and are already this good. You think your transition is tough? I don’t want to hear it.

Shawn Clark, Appalachian State

Appalachian State is consistently one of the toughest outs in the Group of 5. That has continued under Clark. He’s a Louisville alum, so he maybe he’d be more invested in that school than Scott Satterfield has shown at times.

P.J Fleck, Minnesota

If an ACC school is willing to shell out some big bucks, they might be able to land P.J. Fleck who is doing a great job at Minnesota, but may be finding upward difficult trying to navigate past Penn State, Ohio State, and Michigan each season. YOu better have money, he’s worth a shot if you can come up with and really want to commit to football.

Dan Lanning, Georgia

Dan Lanning is a rising star. He’s never been a head coach, but he’s orchestrated one of the best defenses we’ve seen in recent memory in college football. Lanning is a recruiter too, which several ACC schools are in desperate need of. Get him while the iron is hot.

Jeff Traylor, UTSA

If Jeff Traylor isn’t snapped up by a Texas school soon, like Texas Tech or TCU, somebody in the ACC needs to give him a look. Traylor is pure Texas, but he’s probably ready for Power 5 coaching position. He’s won 15 games in less than two year at UTSA, and with an offense that throws up some points. This is for a program that’s only been around since 2011.

Well thanks to @Hokiesmash_ASD for pointing this out to me. Traylor just a couple of days ago finalized a multi-year extension to stay at UTSA.  If you are slow to act, these coaches will end up elsewhere or get extensions. Traylor is the first.
