Five Quick thoughts on Florida State’s near win against Notre Dame.

Florida State vs Notre Dame played a classic 41-38 OT game where the Irish came out on top.

What a roller coaster of  game, and here my five quick thoughts on what it means for Florida State.

  1. Florida State has a beast of a defensive lineman in Georgia transfer Jermaine Johnson. He was a disruptive game changing force, that frees up other Nole defenders to make plays. The front 7 of FSU showed some real substance.
  2. The Florida State offensive line looked as functional as it has in years, and in the 4th quarter controlled the line of scrimmage against a good Irish front.
  3. Clean it up FSU – It was inspired gutty effort in the near win, but costly turnovers may have been the difference
  4. The atmosphere was outstanding. With the entire nation watching the only game on, the environment was as good as it has been in quite awhile. You simply can’t quantify how valuable that may have been for FSU recruiting.
  5. How awesome was it to see McKenzie Milton playing tonight? Jordan Travis is a gamer and made some plays, but Milton had that offense humming. He should be the starter.

The Noles are by no means a finished product, but tonight was something build on. Progress was shown, and that’s huge for Florida State.
