ACC Football Legends in the BCS / Playoff era who would have raked in Endorsements

With NIL making endorsements possible, CBSSports listed their football legends who would have cashed in if this rule change had been made years ago. What ACC Legends would have made this list? Certainly you can’t list them all, but here are some that come to my mind during the BCS / Playoff Era.

Louisville QB Lamar Jackson

Jackson was a highlight reel waiting to happen at Louisville totaling over 10,000 yards of offense in the 2016 and 2017 season. He won the Heisman in 2016. A constant on Sportscenter – could you have imagined the what Jackson could have done endorsement wise?

Clemson QBs Trevor Lawrence and Deshaun Watson

As Clemson’s dynasty grew Deshaun Watson was the face of the beginning of the dynasty with epic performances against Alabama in two national title games. Trevor Lawrence help hand Nick Saban his worst loss of his career winning his own national title, and was front and center as the arguably the best QB in college football his freshman, sophomore, and junior seasons.

Georgia Tech WR Calvin Johnson

Calvin Johnson is the most recognizable Georgia Tech football player in at least 20 years. He was dominant a WR, and was the best WR in all of college football in 2006. He was a record setting WR, that burst on the scene with a game winning TD in his second game as a collegian.

Florida State QB Jameis Winston

Jameis Winston and Florida State in 2013 were a legendary team. When they beat Auburn in the 2013 title game, it stopped the SEC’s run of football titles at 7. Winston was everywhere. He was a Heisman winner, and the biggest star in college football for a couple of years.

Florida State WR Peter Warrick

Back in the the last 90s, Peter Warrick was as electric a player was there was in college football. He was a 2-Time All-American, playing on great FSU teams who were constantly in the National Title hunt. Anyone over the age 30 knows what a great player Warrick was.

North Carolina DE Julius Peppers

Julius Peppers was a fantastic football player. He was All-American DE, but he also a very good basketball player. Peppers was in rarified air being an elite football player, but good enough to get significant minutes on a basketball program the caliber of North Carolina. He was on TV a whole lot.

Even though he didn’t play in the ACC, how sought after Virginia Tech’s Michael Vick would have been?
