Yikes – college baseball fans have spoken. An farce of a CWS Championship has resulted in fans tuning out.
Just as a comparison, GM1 of this @NCAACWS had 385K viewers.
GM1 of the 2018 CWS between Arkansas-Oregon State drew 1.81M viewers. https://t.co/w6s6XIjFp9

For comparison the WCWS championship drew the ratings below from SportsVideo.org.
This year’s Women’s College World Series (WCWS) NCAA Softball Championship was the most-viewed ever, averaging 1,203,000 viewers, up 10% over the 2019 WCWS. The three-game Championship Series between No. 1 Oklahoma and No.10 Florida State averaged 1,840,000 viewers, up 15% over the 2019 Championship Series.
A stunning embarrassment for the sport of College Baseball that a similar event like the WCWS event outtrated the CWS by more than 5 times! 1.8 Million viewers to a paltry 385K viewers.
No doubt this was in part to the debacle of the NC State baseball team removal from the CWS.
People don’t want to watch events with potentially illegitimate champions. Sorry Vanderbilt, with a effectively a 2 game walkover form the losers bracket. The extra rest you received over Mississippi State, and that’s what your title becomes should you close out the Bulldogs.
