Honor The U.S. Capitol Police – Move the MLB All-Star Game to Washington, DC

(Rest in Peace, William Evans – Photo via Associated Press)

Good evening, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.

By now, you’ve heard that Major League Baseball is moving the 2021 All-Star Game at a location to be determined.

I advocate Washington, DC – and here’s why:  We need to honor the U.S. Capitol Police Force.

I think the U.S. Capitol Police Force probably has had the most difficult 90 days in the agency’s history.

In the last 90 days, the U.S. Capitol Police Force has had to deal with multiple deaths, suicides, and injuries – and on top of that, you’ve got a police force who is hurting mentally right now.

I think the U.S. Capitol Police Force should be the guests of honor at this year’s Major League Baseball All-Star game.  Even if they don’t hold the game in my proposed city of Washington, DC (as the game was already here recently), I still think Major League Baseball should fly them to wherever the game is held.

I’ve always received a friendly smile from these folks when I visit the Hill – I’ve never seen a group in brighter spirits – and I hope we can lift them up.
