On Wednesday Brad Brownell’s Clemson team was defeated by Miami in an upset 67-64. Miami has been shorthanded all season, but from time to time have come up with a stellar performance against a heavy favorite. They have beaten Louisville and Duke. Fully healthy they knocked off Purdue, and lost to ranked Virginia Tech twice by a combined 6 points. Isaiah Wong is one the ACC’s most prolific scorers. Miami was a better team than their 9-16 record. That said it was game Clemson was supposed to win.
Clemson’s Aamir Simms is one of the best players in the ACC. He came back for his senior season and has led Clemson to NCAA tournament.
Apparently some fans ( I hesitate to call them true Clemson fans ) have taken the low road forcing Simms to respond.
Got to be better ! Simple…also you hating a** fans stay out my dms with the racial slurs and negative comments we are human and we still deserve respect 💯🤝…I don’t typically speak out on that but it’s getting out of hand and just simply disrespectful!

This is just flat out sick under any circumstances, and anyone attacking a student athlete in this manner is simply a sad human being. I’m embarrassed as a Clemson fan myself that anyone associated with Clemson might have made Simms feel in such a way that he had to take to twitter.
I can only hope that those that went after Simms really weren’t Clemson fans, but random trolls. Even so that is no excuse for these individuals.
The Clemson fan in me is proud of this team and their accomplishments so far this season. I’m wishing them the best of luck in the NCAA tournament knowing they are capable of playing some extremely high level basketball. When you can beat Alabama, Purdue, Maryland and Florida State plus a number of other NCAA caliber teams – that’s a good basketball team.
It just didn’t happen today.
