ACC College Basketball Power Rankings after Week 10

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing.

We’ve added conference records, and .NET rankings via http://warrennolan.com/basketball/2021/net

15. Boston College (3-11, 1-7) NET Ranking 148

Last week: 15

If Jim Christian is still the basketball coach of BC after this year, then Eagles have just given up on college basketball.

14. Wake Forest (5-8, 2-8) NET Ranking 123

Last week: 13

BC is a good chance for a win this week, and then Wake Forest plays at FSU. Tough to see Wake Forest moving up much, but they aren’t really that bad.

13. Miami (7-11, 3-10) NET Ranking 161

Last week: 14

Miami wrecked Duke’s season and almost got Virginia Tech. Do not underestimate this team. UNC and Notre Dame are this week.

12. Notre Dame (7-10, 4-7) NET Ranking 72

Last Week: 12

Notre Dame is much better than their record, and a real problem for the ACC bubble teams. They can’t reach the NCAAs themselves, but can mess it up for a lot for teams. They play at Duke and host Miami this week.

11. NC State (8-7, 4-6) NET Ranking 77

Last Week: 11

NC State plays Syracuse and Duke at home this week. It’s now or never for the Wolfpack. A sweep is a must.

10. Pittsburgh (9-6, 5-5) NET Ranking 76

Last Week: 10

Pitt has lost 3 of their last 4, and with games at Louisville and Georgia Tech this week the Panthers are in trouble.

9. Duke  (7-7, 5-5) NET Ranking 70

Last Week: 4

Did I really have Duke 4th last week? Disastrous week losing to Miami and UNC. If they don’t sweep Notre Dame and NC State this week, I don’t see a realistic path for them to reach the NCAAs.

8. Syracuse (10-6, 4-5) NET Ranking 54

Syracuse needs to make a move now. They need a sweep this week of NC State and Boston College.

Last Week: 8

7. Georgia Tech (9-6, 5-4) NET Ranking 62

Last Week : 5

If Georgia Tech wouldn’t have completed a 17 point comeback against Notre Dame, their NCAA chances would been done. They need to win 2 out 3 against UVa, Clemson and Pitt to keep their NCAA hopes alive.

6. North Carolina (12-6, 7-4) NET Ranking 50

Last Week: 6

Flat effort against Clemson, but the win over Duke keeps UNC in position for the NCAAs. They can’t slip up against Miami. Virginia is also this week.

5. Clemson (12-5, 6-5) NET Ranking 47

Last Week: 9

Clemson put it’s best week of basketball together since their pause with wins over UNC and Syracuse. Georgia Tech is this week.

4. Louisville (11-4, 6-3) NET Ranking 35

Last Week: 7

Before they went on pause, Louisville got a solid win over Georgia Tech. Sweep Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech, and they may be in the top 3 in this poll next week.

3. Virginia Tech (14-4, 8-3) NET Ranking 36

Last Week: 2

Virginia Tech was 2 seconds from tumbling down these rankings, then hit a miracle 3 to get into OT and win against Miami. Louisville and UNC set up a huge week.

2. Virginia (13-3, 9-1) NET Ranking 6

Last Week: 3

Virginia hasn’t been dominant, they just win. If they sweep Georgia Tech and UNC this week, I’ll probably move them to the top spot.

1. Florida State (10-3, 6-2) NET Ranking 23

Last Week: 1

FSU’s next scheduled game is not until February 13 against Wake Forest. Can they come out their pause as well as the one in early January?
