It had to be done. A voice had to speak up on the sham the playoff committee has put forth this year as a selection process. Teams moving up after losing. Criteria that is set up by convenience rather than resume. Losses that have apparently little to no impact. All this this done without the usual OOC games to compare teams by. COVID wasn’t an excuse for coaches, it exposed them. Much the same COVID wasn’t an excuse for the committee’s lack of transparency, it exposed it to the point where the average college football fan has lost total faith in the system.
It’s not working…
More Aresco on Finebaum: “(The BCS) would be more fair than what we’re seeing now. … I think the committee is undermining its credibility with rankings that defy logic, common sense and fairness. … It’s clearly become a P5 invitational.”

Aresco: “It’s a cycle that keeps repeating itself. The eye test has been used, but they refuse to use it with a team like Cincinnati.”

Aresco: “The system is in danger of being derailed now with what I consider self-selected arbitrary factors. It’s not being decided on the field. Why play the games? If you’re going to ignore a 17-point loss at home, why play the games? I don’t know where the goalposts are.”
