Saturday was going to be a intriguing game between Virginia Tech and Pittsburgh for all the wrong reasons. Two programs with coaches that have been at their programs more than 4 years. Both looked like on the surface to be very good hires, and have ended up with roller coaster tenures. Even with a the uncertainty of the pandemic, there was hope for both schools that s top 25 season was possible. It’s been a season of disappointment and frustration for both Virginia Tech’s Justin Fuente and Pitt’s Pat Narduzzi as they met Saturday.
After a 47-14 Pitt win, Narduzzi satisfied his fanbase for at least another week while the last remaining Virginia Tech fans still supporting Fuente are ready to see the end of his era at Virginia Tech. He doesn’t have any supporters left in Blacksburg, and after the latest debacle the Hokie fanbase simply lost it with Justin Fuente.
Here’s a sample…
Ironically, this is the most united I’ve seen #Hokies Twitter in years.

So is VT in the “cheaper to keep her” phase of marriage.

Fuente is running a MAC-quality program in the ACC (with all due respect to the MAC). He’s in way over his head and the Hokies need to hit the reset button on the football program at the end of the season. It’s as simple as that.

I’m not a yeller for the most part as you know 😉 He’s going to dissect a few issues. I will say – I’ve seen some Hokies say that Fu was the wrong guy to begin with, but that’s revisionist history – the hire was universally praised. Sometimes it just doesn’t go well.
