Good morning, Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) sports fans.
I’ve been wanting to post this for a while – I saw some really good tweets on the status of 2020 Virginia Tech football. Here we go:
Our friend, Brent Blevins, always has some of the more analytical takes. This is good.
On one hand, the optimist in me chooses to reflect on the fact the #Hokies still have a team with a lot talent, including Oline, and a ton of experience. The pessimist remembers that we are 19-17 in our last 36 games and I wonder if this who just who we are under Fuente.

I think our friend, Joe, nails the ACC football tiers – he’s spot on at least for this point in the season (I do think think Louisville is much better than their record). Don is also correct – there was that expectation at the beginning of the season that Virginia Tech would not be a middle tier ACC team with all of these returning starters on offense and defense.
Spot on accurate. The problem is most VT fans swore we were at least in that 2nd tier. So to me, the season is a bust.

By all accounts, Virginia Tech is most likely out of the ACC title game with two losses.
If Virginia Tech can rebound today vs. Louisville – maybe there’s still a chance at an 7-4 (8-3 if lucky – odd are against that) type of season.
I’m still saying, too, that Virginia Tech will have a 1000 yard rusher this year in Khalil Herbert. It’s been a long time since that’s happened at Virginia Tech.
