In new look ACC, what are each teams’ ACC Title odds?

#StayHealthy and practice social distancing

All those college football previews you’ve since the beginning of year, you can throw them out. The schedules have been re-vamped, the Big 10 and Pac 12 prematurely called off their seasons, and now Notre Dame is part of the ACC’s schedule.

The top 25 coaches pre-season poll? It’s less than two weeks old, and multiple teams can be removed from it now.

Move everybody up… Clemson stays at #1, Notre Dame goes from #10 to #7, North Carolina up to #12, Virginia Tech up to #15, Louisville up to #23, and Miami up to #24.

The circumstances suddenly have the ACC having 7 top 25 teams. Would that be that same order for teams to the win the ACC?

Not quite…

Following Clemson, it’s Notre Dame, UNC, Miami, and Virginia Tech rounding out the Top 5 as the teams with the best odds to win the conference, according to Sports Betting Dime.

Miami is ahead of Virginia Tech. Both teams lost All-America 1st round caliber players to the fall opt-out. Miami will be without DE Gregory Rousseau, and Virginia Tech lost CB Caleb Farley. You can’t blame either player for opting out of the fall given the current state collegiate athletics. The Big 10 and Pac 12 could they play in the spring, which I doubt will actually occur, you can expect a rash of opt outs for draft eligible players.

While Rousseau and Farley are gone the ACC is still star-studded. Clemson still has QB Trevor Lawrence and RB Travis Etienne returning. Florida State has defensive lineman Marvin Wilson back, and UNC is loaded with offensive talent.

NC State coming off a season where they were the ACC’s worst team in 2019, was picked ahead of 5 other ACC teams including Wake Forest who return with one of the better QB’s in the ACC in Sam Hartman.

Motivation should be high in Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets who were picked by a wide margin to have the least chance to win the ACC.

With the revamped ACC schedule,  games to keep an eye on games between the ACC’s three best teams.

Clemson vs Notre Dame (November 7, 2020)

Notre Dame vs North Carolina (November 27, 2020)

Louisville has yet to be mentioned, but after an 8 win 2019 they need to be on the radar screen. Their odds as the 8th best to the win to the ACC are too low. Micale Cunningham at QB, Javian Hawkins at RB, and Tutu Atwell at WR give them a 3 headed monster on offense that’s among the best in the ACC.
